Reverse design concept
Reverse engineering services are the process of redesigning a given physical model – digitizing the surface of a sample with a coordinate measuring device; and build design models from digitized data. The advantage of the reverse engineering method is that it allows quick and accurate design of designs with high geometric complexity; or a free-form surface pattern (the shaping rule cannot be determined)
Reverse engineering process
The reverse engineering process usually starts with the digitization process. In which the object undergoes exposure measurement (CMM) or irradiation measurement (3D Scanning).
The output data from the measurement process is the coordinates in 3 axes X, Y, Z. The output data must be converted into a file format accepted by 3D software. After that, valuable measurement data outside the permissible range must be filtered and processed visually. This data can be used to directly create CAD models.
Create 3D models:
There are 2 ways to create 3D CAD models from measurement data, using free-form modeling:
Curves Mode: Curves created beforehand from measurement data; then the CAD model was created from the created curve mesh.
Surface Mode: The surface of 3D CAD model is created directly from measurement data.
