When did 3D printing appear?
The first idea of 3D printing dates back to engineer Kodama in 1980. This idea describes a manufacturing method by applying overlapping layers of material. And the SLA technology was born. SLA applies exposure and concentration of 3D resin inks with UV rays.
In 1988, Carl Deckard brought back the patent for SLS technology. This type of rapid prototyping with high-powered laser sintering method of powder material.
That same year, Scott Crump (co-founder of Stratasys later) acquired a license for 3D printing plastic extrusion (FDM).
So in less than 10 years, 3D printing has developed three main types: SLA, SLS and FDM.
